
Doug Pick co-founded Pharmaceutical Technologies, Inc.® (PTI®) in 1992. As a practicing pharmacist since 1983 and a pharmacy owner since 1990, Doug created the vision of becoming the preferred provider of solutions directed at improving the inefficiency and high cost of pharmaceutical healthcare. In addition to managing the sales process, Doug leads and mentors the organization in creative thinking and strategic decision-making.

Angella Pieper has worked in the healthcare industry since 1985. Her wide experience within the business environment includes strategic planning, organizational management, corporate accounting, and project management. Angella joined PTI in 1997 and has overall responsibility for the financial, legal, operational, and strategic planning aspects of the organization.

Dr. Bill Fleming has worked in the healthcare industry since 1961. Dr. Fleming is licensed in 5 states; has served on a multitude of professional and community based organizations; and has authored numerous professional publications. He currently serves on the PTI Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and provides oversight of the PTI Clinical Programs as the Chief Medical Officer.

Eric Schram came to PTI in 1998 to lead the efforts with the in-house technology development environment. Eric provides input into the strategic direction of the organization as it relates to the technological environment and manages the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology Team. Eric is currently responsible for all aspects of product delivery, Database and Network Administration, IT Help Desk, Communications, Security and Disaster Recovery.

Dr. Shellie Schoening has worked in the healthcare industry since 1995 and joined PTI in 2000. Shellie provides input into the strategic direction of the organization as it relates to the clinical programs and services environment and manages the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Department. Shellie is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pharmacoeconomics and Drug Information in the School of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions at Creighton University in Omaha, NE.

Cindy Waterman joined PTI in 1998 bringing 14 years of management experience in customer service and customer relations. She provides input into the strategic direction of the organization as it relates to the client services environment and manages the day-to-day operations of the Client Services Department. Cindy directs and coordinates customer service activities of the PTI help desk which includes providing assistance to third party administrators, employers, employees, and pharmacies with plan benefit design, enrollment/termination issues, coverage issues, and electronic claims adjudication issues.

Dr. Darla DuRee has worked in the healthcare industry since 1988 and joined PTI in 2003. Licensed in multiple states as a pharmacist, Darla’s experience spans a wide variety of areas within the healthcare industry including nursing, long-term care, and retail/mail order pharmacy. Darla provides input into the strategic direction of the organization as it relates to the mail order pharmacy and manages the day-to-day operations of the mail order pharmacy.

Dan has been a member of the PTI board from its inception. Dan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy at Creighton University in Omaha. Since 1989, Dan’s career is that of an owner/manager of a community pharmacy and he brings that perspective to the issues and decisions made at the board level.

Dr. Makoid is a co-founder of PTI and has been teaching in the pharmacy field since 1975. Currently he holds the position of Professor of Pharmacy and Professor of Pharmacology at the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha. One of his many contributions at the University is the introduction of the group-based problem solving active learning program. Dr. Makoid earned a Bachelor and Master of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. His numerous past and present affiliations include those in the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Physical Society.

Chris has been a member of the PTI board from its inception. A summa cum laude graduate of College of St. Mary with a Bachelor’s degree in business, Chris currently serves as Vice President of the Bill Doran Company Wholesale Florist. She is also a registered representative with Northern Lights Distributors and a financial advisor with Forum Financial Consultants. Chris has served as a board member for community service organizations such as Heartland Family Services, Child Saving Institute, and the Omaha Community Playhouse.
